Still cam chain replacement and no riding =(
Johan continues to have problems with is cam chain on the KTM 950 Adventure
Took the flywheel cover off to double check that missing bit wasn’t in there, noticed these extra washers:
Moved on to getting the engine to TDC for front cylinder:
Intake cam in place, both intake and exhaust have extra dots to confuse you:
Exhaust:
New gasket since I always rip this one apart when I open it up, a little grease here and there to help hold it in place is good since it only has 2 dowel pins:
Right side back together …yes I know I have forgotten about the ground wire in this picture but I noticed a little later:
PUUUUUH, finally found that missing bit …could have been expensive, had cranked the engine around a few times to hear if it was any strange sounds.
A magnet made it easy to recover it:
This cheap rubber tool makes it easy to work with spark plugs that are deep down:
Found that I had pinched this cable so had to loosen the flywheel cover once more:
Oil tank and radiator back in place and oil filled, hope I will be able to start her up soon.
