Broken bolt holding heat shield on the Transalp
Johan attempts to fix a broken bold that is holding the heat shield on the Transalp... and fails.
Had a broken bolt holding the heat shield on the Transalp:
Sprayed it a lot with some penetrating oil and the one bolt came out but was almost stripped of all threads:
Freshened up the threads:
Tried extracting the broken off bolt by soaking in penetrating oil for some time and heating and a reverse drill but it was not coming out:
So gave up on it for now and replaced the one bolt holding it and secured the front with an iron wire, if having the exhaust off in the future I will look more into the problem, maybe cut off the tabs and weld new on:
